01 / Scope

About this notice.

This privacy policy explains how Australian VET Group (AVG, we, us) handles personal information collected through this website and its enquiry form. It does not replace a separate privacy policy provided by another business in the AVG group.

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified person, or a person who is reasonably identifiable.

02 / Collection

What we collect and how.

Information you provide

When you send an enquiry, we collect the details entered in the form: your full name, work email, organisation if supplied, and message. We may also collect information you provide when you correspond with us by email or another channel.

Information collected automatically

When website analytics are enabled, our providers may collect technical and usage information such as your device and browser type, operating system, approximate location, referral source, pages visited, session information, clicks, scrolling and other interactions with the site. Internet protocol addresses and pseudonymous identifiers may be processed as part of providing these services.

Sensitive information

We do not ask for sensitive information through this website. Please do not include health information, government identifiers or other sensitive information in an enquiry unless it is necessary and we have asked you to provide it.

03 / Use

How we use information.

We use personal information collected through this website to:

  • respond to partnership, acquisition, supplier and general enquiries;
  • keep appropriate records of our correspondence;
  • operate, maintain and protect the website;
  • understand website traffic and how people use the site; and
  • improve the clarity, performance and usability of the site.

We do not use website enquiry details to send marketing messages unless you have asked to receive them or we otherwise have a lawful basis to do so.

04 / Services

Who helps us process it.

Netlify Forms

Our enquiry form is hosted and processed by Netlify. Netlify stores verified submissions in the site account so authorised AVG personnel can review and manage them. AVG retains and deletes those submissions under the approach described below.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps us understand overall traffic and site performance. A standard implementation can collect user counts, session statistics, approximate location, browser and device information, traffic source and page interactions. It can use first-party cookies, including _ga, to distinguish users and sessions. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or enquiry contents to Google Analytics.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how people interact with the site through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. It can capture page rendering, mouse movements, clicks and scrolling. A replay is a reconstruction of those interactions, not a video recorded through your camera. Microsoft states that input-box content is masked and cannot be unmasked.

05 / Cookies

Cookies and your choices.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may use first-party cookies and related technologies to connect visits and measure interaction. Microsoft Clarity may also use Microsoft-domain cookies for operational purposes.

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab). Blocking cookies may reduce the continuity or detail of analytics, but it will not stop you from reading the site or sending an enquiry.

Where consent is required, we will configure analytics technologies so that cookies are not set until a valid consent signal has been received.

06 / Sharing

Sharing and overseas processing.

We may disclose personal information to technology providers that host, secure, measure or support this website; professional advisers where reasonably necessary; another AVG group business where it is relevant to your enquiry; and regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell or rent personal information collected through this website.

Netlify, Google and Microsoft operate global services. Information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where those providers or their subprocessors operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from Australian law.

07 / Retention

Retention and security.

We keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. We restrict access to people who need the information for their work and use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.

Analytics providers apply their own retention settings and periods. Google Analytics cookies can remain for up to two years under its default settings, although we may configure a shorter period. Microsoft currently documents 30 days for Clarity playback data and up to nine months for click, heatmap, labelled or favourited session data.

No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.

08 / Your rights

Access, correction and complaints.

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate information be corrected. You may also make a privacy complaint. Email us using the details below and include enough information for us to identify the relevant records and understand your request.

We will acknowledge and consider privacy complaints within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (opens in a new tab). The OAIC generally asks that you first give the organisation 30 days to respond.
